The year's first exhibition at Verkligheten began one day when I came home from work with the artist and filmmaker Niki Lindroth von Bahr. The characters in Lindroth von Bahr’s films are anthropomorphic animals that exist in a world similar to ours, although infected with magical realism. Things are displaced, carrying a strangeness at the same time as familiarity, often with a brooding apocalyptic tone.
