Black Iris creates exhibitions in unexpected locations that are typically closed to the public. The idea of a “black iris” symbolizes the notion that the eye, or the mind’s eye, has the capacity to perceive an infinite amount of information and beauty from the world. Just as the pupil of the eye dilates in response to darkness, the black iris represents the idea that in the darkest and most mysterious corners of existence, there are unexplored areas of knowledge and understanding waiting to be discovered.
